It’s a great array of events including the Preview Concert of the famous New Year’s Day Concert by the Vienna Philharmonic, a performance of Strauss’s DIE FLEDERMAUS at the Vienna State Opera and Beethoven’s NINTH SYMPHONY in concert at the Konzerthaus. Then there are the options of IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA at the Vienna State Opera House and the glittering IMPERIAL BALL on New Year's Eve – a memorable occasion to be enjoyed in style! We hope you will be with us.

Monday, December 27 - DEPARTURE FROM NEW YORK

Departure from Kennedy Airport in New York with AUSTRIAN AIRLINES Flight OS 88 at 5:55 PM. Dinner and breakfast served on board. Please note that the price of this air itinerary is included in the tour package. Add-ons from other USA gateway cities are available for booking, upon request, at a nominal fare.

Tuesday, December 28 - VIENNA

Arrive Vienna at 8:35 AM. Transfer provided from the airport to the deluxe HOTEL STEIGENBERGER HERRENHOF in the heart of Vienna, near the opera house.
Afternoon at leisure.

Welcome reception at the hotel with a talk by a member of the VIENNA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA. Welcome dinner in the famous restaurant of the equally famous HOTEL SACHER.

Wednesday, December 29 - VIENNA

This morning enjoy sightseeing by coach in Vienna to see its fabulous buildings such as the MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS AND NATURAL HISTORY and the POSTAL SAVINGS BANK. Then join our guide for a walking tour to visit one of the Habsburg’s greatest legacies, the SCHATZKAMMER (treasury), containing not only the crown jewels of the emperors, but also one of Europe's finest collections of objets d'art, imperial garments and religious items.
The balance of the day is at leisure.

OPTIONAL PERFORMANCE: This evening: Rossini’s IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA (Vienna State Opera). The cast: Alexey Kudrya, Lars Woldt, Anna Bonitatibus, Tae Joonh Yang, Janusz Monarcha. Jean-Christophe Spinosi conducts. Price is subject to availability and reconfirmation.

Thursday, December 30 - VIENNA

This morning: NEW YEAR’S CONCERT PREVIEW with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at the Musikverein’s “Goldener Saal” conducted by Franz Welser-Möst.

Friday, December 31 - VIENNA

This morning enjoy a visit and guided tour of the MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS. The Museum of Fine Arts was built in 1891 near the Imperial Palace to house the extensive collections of the imperial family. With its vast array of eminent works and the largest Bruegel collection, it is considered one of the leading museums in the world.

This evening: BEETHOVEN’S NINTH SYMPHONY in D-Minor, Opus 125 (Konzerthaus - 7:00 PM) is performed by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Academy of Song. Louis Langrée conducts, with soloists Kate Royal, soprano; Ekaterina Semenchuk, mezzo-soprano; Steve Davislim, tenor, and Brindley Sherratt, bass.

OPTIONAL EVENT: One of Europe’s most unique events on New Year’s Eve – the famous IMPERIAL BALL in the halls of the Hofburg Palace. Celebrate the beginning of the year 2011 in the state apartments of the glorious imperial winter residence. According to the motto of this year “Johann Strauss, the king of waltzes” accompanies you throughout the evening. Dinner and dancing are until 3:30 AM. Price: $1,245.00 per person includes dinner and the ball.

Saturday, January 1 - VIENNA

“HAPPY NEW YEAR!”

This day is at leisure to enjoy Vienna on your own.

This evening: Johann Strauss’s DIE FLEDERMAUS (Vienna State Opera). The cast: Camilla Nylund, Angelika Kirchschlager, Markus Werba, Michael Schade, Alfred Sramek, Adrian Eröd, Daniela Fally, Helmuth Lohner; Patrick Lange conducts. This is the famous production by Otto Schenk, Günther Schneider Siemssen and Milena Canonero.

Sunday, January 2 - VIENNA

The day is at leisure.

Tour Arrangements Price does NOT include:

Air tax of approximately $180.00; items of a personal nature; accident/baggage/
cancellation insurance; tips; wine with included meals; personal expenses, meals and entrance fees except those mentioned in the itinerary as included; $50.00 booking fee as charged by the airline which will be applied toward the final purchase price.

PAYMENT TERMS:

Arrangements, once confirmed, are non-refundable, non-cancelable and cannot be changed. In case the featured hotel is sold out, International Marketing & Travel Concepts, Inc. (“IMTC”) dba Austrian Airlines Vacation Center, will provide the client with the option to purchase alternate hotel accommodations. Payment in full is required within seven (7) days of confirmation.

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES: NAMES:

Immediately upon receipt of confirmation, customer needs to verify that the names printed on the invoice and confirmation form match the first and last names as written in the Customer’s and/or each individual participant’s passports. Any name changes could require the cancellation and re-booking of flights, and reservations would then be subject to availability at the time of re-booking. Name changes are not permitted after payment has been received and tickets have been issued.

TRIP INSURANCE:

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE. An application for travel insurance will be included with our acknowledgment of your reservation. We suggest that you apply for it as soon as possible after signing up for a tour. Should it become necessary for you to cancel due to illness (but not business reasons) the policy may cover your losses (subject to insurance terms).

All cancellations must be in writing.
All tour programs are subject to change by the operator.
