* MEDITERRANEAN MUSIC CRUISE *
The Cradle of Western Civilization
on a Grand Voyage
From Rome to Istanbul
Aboard the All-Suite, 114-Guest Corinthian II
September 20 - 29, 2010
Great music, performed by award-winning artists, in unforgettable
locations. That is the theme of our autumn Mediterranean Music Cruise
We’ve chosen the music and the locations with great care. For example, we’ll
hear Wagner at Ravello’s Villa Rufolo, a palace and garden the composer
knew and loved. And at the grand Palazzo Beneventano in Sicily we’ll hear
classic works by Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven—music that was performed
here more than 200 years ago, when it was new.
We’ve scheduled six private concerts for you. Our artists will perform works
by the great masters, and as a special feature of this music festival, you will
hear Lowell Liebermann play a piano quintet of his own composition.
Each concert is closed to the public, completely exclusive, performed only
for you. We will be reviving a grand tradition, recalling the time when
kings and nobles would invite the greatest artists of their day to give a recital
for their family and friends.
Each day of the voyage introduces you to a new culture or civilization:
Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman. But the music is the common thread
throughout our journey, because it is a treasure, a legacy all of us share.
